Often times when brands begin to be successful and have built trust with consumers, they tend to branch out of their specialty and begin to produce similar products. A brand that has extended into other areas is Calvin Klein. It originally started as a high quality modern and sophisticated clothing brand for men and women but now also for children. Calvin Klein has extended its brand by offering handbags, footwear, underwear, fragrances and home furnishings. Calvin Klein is a great example of brand extension because it is has a broad array of types of products that branch out from the original Calvin Klein brand which main focus was clothing. Calvin Klein now offers home and décor products such as bedding, rugs, bathroom towels, dinnerware, table linen and furniture.
